I can't handle the drops, in two minutes I will be throwing up in the trash can, the techs move fast to get the garbage can. I found the doctor who use an opto map that doesn't require to dialate the eyes. Good Luck.

do not drive after the drops - my eyes felt quite uncomfortable and the light was painful. Did not like it very much. My mum had it done and she wasnt too bad though...

I can't get them. I get very tachy and weak, but I probably have MCAD so I don't tolerate meds well.

I can't do the drops either, they gave me anxiety attack, palpitations, tachycardia, and I stayed dilated for 2 days. Apparently a lot of children react the same way that I do, so my doctor suggested I never get them again.

Thanks everyone! I opted out of the dialatuon drops but did get the numbing ones. They burned a bit and made me kind of dizzy but nothing too bad thank gosh

the first time I had a reaction I was told I was nuts, the 2nd time they used something different and I did not react. I am due a dilation but so scared, don't know which one made me sick

Honestly I didn't need them. The doctor just put the light right up to my eye and looked very closely (his nose was touching my face). He said he could see everything. I think they just do them because it is much easier, but if you tell them that you can't do them, they can still see your retina and everything else!

I guess some it depends on how much your pupils restrict as well. I have serious eye issues so they like to see more of the optic nerve. They can't fix anything though so I am putting myself through the trauma less and less.

My opto does it every 3 months, I don't have any problems (ofc, my vision is a bit blurry for the rest of the day)
