stocktrader
I believe I have blood pooling in my abdomen. Although I think it is from POTS, I frequently heart gurgling noises from my stomach and wonder whether they could be from ascites due to heart failure or cirrhosis. My concerns about ascites were based on my assumption that blood would have a higher "viscosity" (or whatever the term is) and would not be prone to gurgling noises, whereas the water (or whatever fluid) from ascites would have a lower viscosity and be more prone to squishing around. So my question is whether other POTS patients who have abdominal pooling hear gurgling sounds. sue1234
I have gurgling noises, but I don't think mine is from blood pooling. I get bloated real easy g.i.-wise if things don't keep moving, so the more gurgling I hear, the better for me!When I "pool", I just feel a tight, heavy abdomen, but I don't notice any noises or gurgling specifically related to it. I'm sure other "poolers" will chime in with their experiences.
toddm1960
Sue I'm with you, my tummy grows while I stand and is tight as a drum. I look pregnant no gurgling here either. With slow motility grugling is a good thing
stocktrader
Do these G.I.-related gurgling sounds happen right after you eat, or can they happen several hours later? I don't know anything about the digestive process.
sue1234
As I mentioned, for ME, gurgling is good, so on a good day, mine gurgles 24 hours a day. I can wake up in the middle of the night, and my intestines are pushing things through. Of course, I only have one bm a day, but the rest of the time, things are slowly moving through.
