gertie
Have any of you used Tamiflu or any of the other antivirals? Everyone in my family that has taken them for flu was a lot sicker after taking it. Just wondering how it effects us with Dys. Thanks. dsdmom
I'm interested in knowing how others have fared with antivirals, too. I think I have shingles - seeing the doc in the morning - and if so, will be put on antivirals. very nervous how my body will react.

delphicdragon
My mom took it for the flu two years ago and it immediately made her sicker than she was with the flu - vomiting and diarrhea were almost instantaneous and were the last thing she needed with a fever. It also only shortened the illness by a day. Not worth it, in my opinion, and she doesn't have POTS.Sara
worththewords
I took it a few weeks ago when my husband and I got the swine flu. I have POTS and I'm pregnant. It gave me a little bit of a headache but it helped kick the flu fast. Everyone is different but I tend to be sensitive to meds and Tami Flu was no big deal for me.ETA:My husband was given Relenza (another anitviral) and he had the swine flu way worse than I did. It knocked it out of his system way faster than TamiFlu did for me. We'd rather take the meds than suffer through the flu, fever, and potential pneumonia. Reef Diver
I have swine flu and am taking Tamiflu to combat it. I think it's going to help me throw this bug off before I develop a secondary infection. At least, I hope so!
