Guest GaryRN
Just Curious if this plays a role in POTSMy Total Cholesterol is over 400Triglycycerides are over 1400HDL and LDL can remember, but are also badI can't tolerate Statins or the likeand BTW, I thought it is worth mentioning, I'm having a rough go with the Beta Blocker (Metoprolol)After alot of research today, I do believe this is what is causing some of my increased anxiety, fatigue, body aches, nausea, reflux, dizzyness, lightheadedness, and more. I've been on 50mg 2 x day for about 10 days now.If you go to http://www.askapatient.com and type in your BP med, then click on the ratings and look at all of the 1's. Each medication is patient rated on a scale from 1-5 and what I read explains alot of what I've been experiencing over the last 10 days or so. I'm going off and getting on the Linus Pauling protocol. http://www.oralchelation.net/data/VitaminC/data20a.htmIf you have high cholesterol, you should check it out.Gary
mkoven
Fortunately, this seems to be one thing that's okay. My total is 140, LDL 79, HDL 44, TGL 76. My LDL dropped a lot. the only real difference is consistent exercise. (It'd been between 97-111 before). My hdl has always been on the low side. delphicdragon
My age may play a factor in this (I'm 25) , but my cholesterol numbers are fine.Total = 162HDL =63LDL = 99Triglycerides = 50I also can't tolerate Beta Blockers, but this is due to Asthma. Sorry I can't be of more help.Sara
Lizzegrl
Mine are pretty fine. My total is 200. Can't remember the rest, but they told me they were all fine. I'm 40 and overweight too. Thank God, it is one thing I don't have to worry about. No betas for me, due to asthma. I have family with cholesterol like yours and they do a ton of fiber, lecithin, etc. to try on work on it. They are very very thin, eat well, etc. but still have the sky high cholesterol levels. The doctors have told them that they have a genetic predisposition to it. Stress also plays a huge roll in their case. Their levels go up with increased stress.I"ve found that it takes a good two weeks minimum to get used to a cardiac med. I've been on more than a few, and the stronger they are, the longer it takes to get your body used to it. beta blockers were the easiest to get used to, and when I had asthma reactions - they came on quickly. The other classes were much harder to aclimate to taking. You might give it some more time and see if the side effect lessen.

pearsjon
always been high, will not put me on meds for it due to all the side effects i get.last one done in 2004- cholesterol-246triglycerides-51HDL-47LDL-189cholesterol to HDL RATIO-5.2i had higher readings before that and know how to regulate good and bad cholesterol. here's my secret (it works, i went back 2 weeks later w/normal ratio and all of the above) COLD PRESSED GRAPE SEED OIL 1 OUNCE A DAY. now how do you get this in your system. nasty to just spoon it. i made my own salad dressing and drank what i didn't eat up in the salad. i also fried eggplant in it (you know cause they soak up alot of the oil), just to let you know it has a low burn rate. so you must keep your level at the low to medium range on stovetop. like 3-5. giving you every detail i can think of, since we probaly don't all have same range. i also took vit A. grape seed ooil works like the omega fish oil w/o the yucky fish burp. which i had every time i tried it. i read about this in a natural healing book, after not being able to take the rx and the fish oil. w/i 2 weeks i went for retake and was perfectly normal. i have it checked every so often, to seee when i need to take some grape seed oil. looks like i am due for a test.
