shadesofgrey49
Hi all,I'm halfway to a POTS diagnosis, but I need a good specialist in the NYC area. I've called a few people on the lists on this site, but they seem to be booked for at least a month. I'm planning on returning to school in January (I was on medical leave this semester trying to figure out what was going on with me), so I won't have much time to figure this all out when I get back. I want to get diagnosed and start treatment before then. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd really appreciate it. It's just taking so long with doctors who have a very modest knowledge of dysautonomia.
shadesofgrey49
P.S. I'm new here. I've been posting on But You Don't Look Sick.Chronic POTS symptoms since May. My IBS flared really badly around then too.
MightyMouse
a month wait time is actually darned good... for some of the better known specialists, the wait is at least 6 mos to a year.Nina
Rachel
Hi Shadesofgray. Welcome to DINET!I agree that a wait of only 1 month is really good. I often have had to wait 3 weeks just to see my primary care physician. I've waited over a year to get into specialists before.I hope you can find a doctor who is knowledgable in the area of dysautonomia and is able to help you.All the best,Rachel
