Emma's Corner

Dysautonomia News is now featuring "updates" from Emma Nicholson, a POTS patient in the United Kingdom.

Emma's PhotoHi All,

I thought it was about time I sat down and wrote an email to give you all an update on what I have been up to.

Things have been going really great. I am feeling fab! My health is really good and walking is going well. I am walking a lot of the time with no crutches now, which I am very pleased about.

My hospital consultant, Dr Lockington at Ipswich hospital, is in the middle of writing a medical paper based on my treatment. This will hopefully lead to the treatment I am receiving being available to other POTS sufferers. I will keep you all updated on this and forward a copy to the POTS website for you all to read.

As long as I attend my treatment twice a week I am completely stable, and this is something I thought would never happen. It is so nice to finally enjoy a hot bath, to be able to bend down and even stand up without feeling dizzy or passing out.

I was meant to go into hospital to have my implanted port fixed but there was no bed so at the moment I am back on the waiting list. The port will mean that later on I will be able to administer my treatment myself at home rather then attending the hospital on a weekly basis.

I have just brought two female bulldog puppies called Milli and Ruby-Red. They are 7 weeks old and keeping me on my toes…. I guess this is one way of getting fit again!!!

It is so nice to see the sun shining at last. Doesn’t it just make you feel much happier when the sun is shining??

I am trying to cram as much study in as possible at the moment as I am in the middle of some important exams, but so far so good. On the 29 th of July I am off to Spain for a long weekend, so at least then I can relax and put the exams behind me and just await the results!!!!!!!

Anyway I hope you are all good.

Take care,

Emma
