On Butterfly Wings
By Stacey Yount
On Butterfly wings
I flew away
To see the world in a day
A swallowtail was my ride
We were seeking
Adventure far and wide
We soared with power
I did not know she had
And then swooped down to rest
On the happiest of flower
We met others along the way
Some on dragons, some on leaves
It was a traveling day for many with wings
This has been a dream
To drink from a stream
And dance on the wind
On Butterfly wings
I flew away
To see the world in a day
Then I came home to
What I love
And
When my friend I see
I remember the dragons, the wind
The butterfly and me.
